Chamberlain Hrdlicka Launches Appellate Law Blog

Recently, national law firm Chamberlain Hrdlicka has launched its Appellate Law blog, which will cover a cross-section of issues of interest to businesses and individuals involved in litigation, trial and appellate lawyers, as well as judges. Topics will include updates on cases addressing procedure; error preservation during the trial, jury charge conference, and post-trial; handling mandamus and interlocutory appeals; tips for effective brief writing and oral advocacy; and other timely updates.

Authored by Steven Knight, shareholder and co-chair of the appellate practice, the first blog posts include an overview of the appellate court system in Texas and the appeal process, tips for a successful appeal and the importance of the jury charge conference to the success of a trial. The blog can be accessed at https://www.chamberlainlaw.com/appellate-blog/what-options-exist-when-your-trial-goes-bad.

With more than twenty years of appellate experience, Knight successfully represents clients in the Texas Supreme Court, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and many intermediate appellate courts. He has prepared and filed countless appellate briefs, including filings in the United States Supreme Court. Knight is an active member of the Appellate Section of the Houston Bar Association and the Texas State Bar Appellate Section, where he has served as the Co-Chair of the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) Committee.

Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s appellate practice has gained national recognition for handling all phases and aspects of the appellate process, from assisting trial lawyers preserve error in the trial court to handling appeals in state and federal appellate courts across the country. Whether the mission is to defend an important trial court victory in a case that has been appealed or to overturn a trial court defeat, Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s appellate attorneys have a demonstrated track record of success, including “bet the company” cases.
