Amy M. Leitch is an associate in the firm’s business litigation group. She represents both plaintiffs and defendants and individuals and companies, from small and non-profit businesses to large, publicly-traded corporations. Her experience involves a wide range of matters, including contract disputes, business torts, debtor-creditor law, civil RICO claims, complex damage determinations, probate litigation, employment law, judgment recovery, and construction issues.
Representative Transactions
- Helped secure dismissal and withdrawal of bank’s application for confirmation and approval of foreclosure sale against local, residential builder’s company. Bank sought to confirm foreclosure sale and pursue deficiency judgment against guarantor-builder on loans totaling $9,452,100.00.
- Aided in achieving global settlement for family in wrongful death suit that included payout of over $500,000. Suit was brought against driver and passenger and settlement funds were secured from both defendants and their insurance companies in addition to our client’s insurance company.
- Assisted in winning summary judgment for franchisee on premise liability action, successfully showing franchisee did not breach any duty owed to plaintiff under both invitee and less-onerous licensee standard of care.
- Helped secure substantial settlement package that included payout of over $500,000, benefits and legal fees from restaurant group and owner for long-time employee who experienced on-the-job harassment and retaliation.
- Assisted in achieving favorable settlement against Korean Fortune Global 100 company for an American-based, international textile agency after successfully obtaining a permanent anti-suit injunction that enjoined corporation from pursuing related litigation in Korea where company had inordinate influence.
- Helped win a criminal jury trial as second chair while at Emory Law as a student public defender along with another student under attorney supervision in connection with Emory Indigent Criminal Defense Clinic.
