Mona P. Maerz practices in the area of corporate law with a focus on mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Maerz has experience in local, national and international acquisitions and divestitures in a variety of industries, including media, food, chemicals and construction with deal values ranging from $1 million to $4.6 billion dollars. Ms. Maerz frequently advises her clients on a variety of real estate transactions, such as the negotiation of all types of commercial and land leases and the sale or acquisition of commercial properties. Ms. Maerz works closely with her clients’ business executive teams and their in-house lawyers to assist them in all matters essential to the successful operation of their business, including corporate structure and governance, complex contract drafting and review, and legal compliance. In addition to advising her U.S. clients, Ms. Maerz has assisted a number of German and European companies with establishing and operating their U.S. businesses in a variety of industries.
Ms. Maerz formerly served as in-house corporate counsel for Cumulus Media, Inc., in which capacity she assisted the general counsel in all legal matters, including contracts, real estate matters, employment matters, FCC compliance and risk management.

- Multi-billion dollar business unit spin-off from client to its shareholders and simultaneous acquisition of company through the merger with a wholly owned subsidiary
- Numerous mergers/sales/acquisitions of radio stations and/or radio companies nationwide for publicly traded client
- Several leveraged technology buy-outs for small innovative group of professionals
- 250 million dollar acquisition of resins business by US Fortune 500 manufacturer of chemicals, fibers and plastics worldwide
- Numerous acquisitions of ready mix cement plants and/or companies in the United States
- Acquisition of cut foil lidding division with production and distribution facilities in the United States by Canadian member of global packaging group
- Sale of US image guided surgery business by Scandinavian owned supplier of radiation oncology and neurosurgery solutions
- Acquisition of sports magazine and related business for Georgia based publishing company
- Complex internal corporate restructuring of client with national and international operations, including consolidation of US subsidiaries through mergers, asset distributions and dissolutions
