Kimberly is an associate in the Intellectual Property (IP) practice group. As a registered patent attorney, Kimberly focuses her practice on IP law, with an emphasis on domestic and international patent prosecution. Kimberly drafts provisional, non-provisional, and design applications for various international corporations, as well as, provides IP transactional and counseling support. Kimberly’s experience also includes patent opinion work and IP portfolio management, including patentability searches, patent landscapes, and claim charting.
Kimberly has experience in a wide range of technologies including oilfield technologies, semiconductor/lasers technologies, material science technologies, and informational technology (IT).
Kimberly is a former Patent Examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in its semiconductor and laser art unit. While at the USPTO, Kimberly examined patent applications related to the chemical structure and physical properties of semiconductor materials, various deposition/etching techniques for semiconductor materials. In addition, Kimberly examined patent applications related to light-emitting diodes, electro-mechanical devices, opto-electronics, lasers, plastic/ceramic molding, coated particles.
Prior to her legal career, Kimberly worked as a process controls engineer for Bayer Corporation its MDA chemical production unit.
