Dianne C. Mehany practices in the firm's Federal Tax Controversy Group.  Her practice assists both individuals and companies in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service.  She works with clients on every step of the controversy process, including drafting protests, meeting with appeals, filing petitions in the Tax Court and complaints in District Court, and assisting with trial preparation and settlement discussions.

Ms. Mehany also assists in the Firm's tax planning practice and has experience with mergers, conversions, and internal restructuring of corporations, partnerships, and other entities. 

Before joining Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, Ms. Mehany clerked with the Honorable D. Irvin Couvillion of the United States Tax Court.

Significant Transactions

  • Served on trial team for major Tax Court case stemming from Fortune 500 company merger.
  • Received favorable motion for summary judgment ruling on large research and development credit issue.
  • Structured and completed tax-free corporate reorganization of major Texas medical facility.
