Charles E. Hodges II has been named chairman of the Georgia Bar Association's Tax Section for the 2005-06 term. He was selected during the Section's annual meeting this month.

The Tax Section promotes the continuing education of Georgia Bar members in the field of federal and state taxation while also maintaining liaisons with the Internal Revenue Service, the State Department of Revenue and the Georgia State University Tax Clinic. Additionally, the Section also is responsible for monitoring state legislation affecting taxation, as well as providing recommendations concerning legislative and administrative rules.

"Tax represents an ever changing sector of the law that can potentially impact every Georgia consumer and business," Hodges said. "I am passionate about that practice area and look forward to driving awareness, through my chairmanship, to my fellow members of the Georgia Bar."

Hodges, a shareholder in Chamberlain Hrdlicka's Atlanta office, holds an undergraduate degree from Clemson University, a law degree from Mercer University, and a LL.M degree in taxation from the University of Florida. His caseload concentration is in the fields of federal tax litigation and tax planning. Hodges also was recently selected as a 2005 "Leader in the Field" of taxation by Chambers USA which publishes America's Leading Lawyers for Business directory.
