Veronica Saltz Turner engages in an active civil trial practice. Within months of passing the bar exam, Ms. Turner served as lead trial counsel for a major corporation in her first federal jury trial. Over a 27 year trial career, Ms. Turner has tried over 100 cases in both federal and state courts in the eastern region in areas of aviation, product liability, employment discrimination, ERISA, life, health and disability, hospitality litigation, transportation, property and commercial litigation. She has obtained countless successful outcomes for her clients through summary judgment motions, arbitrations and trials.
In the field of aviation, Ms. Turner obtained a defense verdict on behalf of an aircraft engine manufacturer against a national plaintiff’s aviation attorney. Recently, she obtained a defense verdict in a complex employment case arising under the American Disabilities Act. In her trademark infringement practice, Ms. Turner successfully defeated several motions seeking preliminary injunctions.
Ms. Turner, in representing an international hospitality client, was among the first trial attorneys in the country to try a bed bug case in federal court, obtaining a defense verdict. More recently, Ms. Turner obtained summary judgment in favor of a hotel, hotel owner and hotel operator in a bed bug case pending in the Maryland Circuit Court. In prosecuting a property damages case, Ms. Turner obtained a favorable verdict on behalf of a church.
In her representation of major insurance companies, Ms. Turner obtained defense verdicts in material misrepresentation matters involving life insurance, summary judgment in a bad faith claim, and numerous summary judgment verdicts in cases brought under ERISA. Over the years, Ms. Turner has been vetted by clients to serve as lead trial counsel in cases where trial was inevitable. Ms. Turner is known for her ability to connect with jurors, her cross examinations and her effectiveness in the courtroom.
The firm’s clients rely on Ms. Turner to assist in coordinating litigation throughout the country, employment counseling and handling highly sensitive investigations. Ms. Turner conducts training courses and seminars on prevention of employment litigation, general liability issues and claims handling.
