Profile

Stephanie Gilliam is an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. Her experience includes claims in state and federal courts and administrative bodies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor. Ms. Gilliam has litigated several complex and contentious matters, including individual, class, and collective actions arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and similar state and federal laws governing workplace rights and obligations.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Gilliam served as in-house counsel to one of the nation’s leading oil and gas industry service providers.  Ms. Gilliam worked exclusively in the area of labor and employment law, providing day-to-day general compliance advice to senior management and human resources professionals, assisting in the creation of personnel policies and procedures, and preparing and enforcing restrictive covenants and other employment-related agreements.

Ms. Gilliam earned her Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies, cum laude, from Texas State University. She is fluent in Spanish.
