Chamberlain Hrdlicka Attorneys Named 2017 PA Super Lawyers

Stewart M. Weintraub and Kenneth I. Trujillo recognized among top lawyers in Pennsylvania

PHILADELPHIA (May 2017) – The national law firm Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams & Aughtry is pleased to announce that attorneys Stewart M. Weintraub and Kenneth I. Trujillo have been named 2017 Pennsylvania Super Lawyers.

This marks the 14th year that Weintraub, who chairs the firm’s state and local tax (SALT) practice group, has been named among the elite Super Lawyers, and the 13th year that Trujillo has been recognized as a Super Lawyer.

A program of Thomson Reuters, Pennsylvania Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers who, through a peer review and independent research process, have been identified as attaining a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Only the top 5 percent of Pennsylvania’s 50,000 lawyers and the top 2.5 percent of up-and-coming Pennsylvania attorneys are named to the Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.

Candidates are evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement, including verdicts and settlements; honors and awards; special licenses and certifications; pro bono and community service efforts; and scholarly lectures and writings. The ultimate objective of Super Lawyers is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse list of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for other practitioners and consumers searching for legal counsel.

Since being admitted to the Pennsylvania bar in 1971, Weintraub has focused his practice upon state and local taxation. From audits through trials and appeals to the appellate courts, Weintraub represents clients in all aspects of state and local tax compliance and litigation.

His practice also includes helping clients plan and structure transactions so that all state and local tax obligations are minimized. A longtime respected tax professional in Philadelphia, Weintraub began his career with the City of Philadelphia Law Department. Now in private practice, he has been a shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka since 2010.

A shareholder at Chamberlain Hrdlicka, Trujillo, for over three decades, has represented U.S. and foreign corporations and government entities, executives, lawyers, and other individuals with particular emphasis on contract disputes, securities, antitrust, education, and other regulatory issues. His practice involves complex civil litigation and class actions, and he counsels clients on regulatory matters and internal investigations.

Trujillo also has represented numerous public officials and government entities, including city council members, mayors, governors, states, cities and Native American tribes in civil and criminal matters. He has extensive jury trial experience, having tried to verdict civil and criminal cases ranging from personal injury to civil rights to complex class actions.
