Stewart Weintraub recognized as Lawyer of the Year in Tax Litigation and Controversy by Best Lawyers in America® for fourth time
Chamberlain Hrdlicka is pleased to announce that Philadelphia-based Shareholder and State and Local Tax (S.A.L.T) Practice Chair Emeritus Stewart Weintraub was named “Lawyer of the Year” for the 2024 edition of Best Lawyers in America®. It is the fourth such honor for Weintraub, who previously was named as Lawyer of the Year in the publication’s 2014, 2021 and 2023 editions. Attorneys named to Best Lawyers in America® were recognized by their peers in the legal industry for their professional excellence in 145 practice areas. Weintraub is the practice chair emeritus for the firm’s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice. With more than 50 years of experience, he helps clients plan and structure transactions to minimize state and local tax obligations. Weintraub represents clients in all aspects of state and local tax compliance and litigation, from audits, trials and appeals to the appellate courts. Prior to entering private practice, Weintraub was chief of tax litigation for the city of Philadelphia’s Law Department, during which he also served as chief counsel of the mayor’s Tax Reform Commission.
He earned his undergraduate degree from Drexel University and his law degree from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law.
