SALT Attorneys Present at Tax Executives Institute

Jennifer Weidler Karpchuk and Adam Koelsch talk state and local tax law at regional TEI seminar

PHILADELPHIA (December 2017) – Chamberlain Hrdlicka attorneys Jennifer Weidler Karpchuk and Adam Koelsch presented at the 2017 Current Issues in State and Local Taxation seminar hosted by the Philadelphia chapter of the Tax Executives Institute on Nov. 29, 2017.

The event was a full-day seminar covering various topics related to state and local taxation. Karpchuk and Koelsch presented “Pennsylvania State & Local Tax Update.” Both attorneys focus their law practice on state and local tax topics.

As Senior Counsel at Chamberlain Hrdlicka, Karpchuk advises clients who are challenging audit determinations and real estate assessment decisions, seeking refunds from state and local governments, handling administrative appeals, litigating unresolved disputes in state and local courts, and handling post-trial appeals. Karpchuk is a co-author of the Pennsylvania Tax Handbook, as well as the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Bar Association Tax Section State and Local Tax Committee Property Tax Deskbook. She is the incoming Secretary for the Philadelphia Bar Association’s State and Local Tax Committee.

Koelsch is an experienced state and local tax controversy and planning attorney, representing clients in administrative appeals, collection actions in trial-level courts, and appeals in the state courts. Koelsch advises clients on minimizing their exposure during audits, negotiates fair settlements when there is a delinquency, and helps to structure payment plans that are feasible and advantageous to both parties. Along with Karpchuk, he is a co-author of the Pennsylvania Tax Handbook and the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Bar Association Tax Section State and Local Tax Committee Property Tax Deskbook.
