Hospitality Industry Litigation

Overview

Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s hospitality law group has specialized knowledge relating to the business of owning, franchising and managing hotels and resorts.  Our attorneys understand the challenges presented to hospitality related businesses, defending clients against claims ranging from routine slip and falls, crimes committed by unknown perpetrators against guests, contractual disputes with service providers, suppliers and vendors, insurance-related matters and employment and labor concerns.

With the resurgence of bed bugs in America and the increasing infestations since 2004, our attorneys have gained expertise in defending bed bug cases, being among the first attorneys in the country to try a bed bug case, obtaining a defense verdict on behalf of an international hospitality operator.  More recently, summary judgment was granted by a Maryland state court on behalf of the hotel, owner and operator.  With the continuing rise of bed bug claims and large verdict awards, our attorneys have the technical knowledge combined with seasoned trial experience in continuing to successfully defend against such claims.  As a proactive measure, our attorneys provide seminars to clients with topics ranging from understanding bed bug biology, preventive measures, guest complaints, investigation, remediation and claims handling and defense.

Whether through negotiation, mediation, litigation or arbitration, our attorneys bring experience, creativity and savvy to solve complex issues.  Our attorneys work to proactively defend cases and claims to move the parties to decision quickly and efficiently as possible.  If a matter remains unsettled, clients have the satisfaction of knowing that it has an experienced trial attorney with a proven track record of successfully trying cases through verdict.
