Nicole Shanklin is a Senior Counsel in the Firm's Houston office, where her practice covers an array of complex corporate, transactional, and governance matters. She had great success in her prior tenure with Chamberlain Hrdlicka and as general counsel and corporate secretary of a $650 million, private equity-backed, global chemical distribution company (operations in the US, Europe, India, and China) where she had sole responsibility for managing all of the company’s legal, human resource, and regulatory affairs. Nicole is experienced in managing acquisition, merger, and divestiture transactions, corporate integrations, a full range of commercial transactions, health, safety and environmental matters, corporate governance, securities and exchange compliance, crisis and risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance and licensing at local, state, and national levels.
Nicole’s counsel to clients on complex legal matters is informed by her experience and focus on the intersection of law and commercial business transactions. With her background as legal advisor and corporate executive, her commercial practicality makes her a trusted advisor for clients navigating daily and operational matters, to sophisticated transactional matters. Business leaders and in-house legal teams value Nicole’s pragmatic approach and seek her guidance when they need strategic insight from a highly trained advisor who has successfully handled legal affairs from their perspective.
