Chamberlain Hrdlicka Reception Hall debuts at University of Houston Law Center

In recognition of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s continued support of the University of Houston Law Center, students, faculty, and visitors to the new John M. O’Quinn Law Building will enter and exit through the Chamberlain Hrdlicka Reception Hall.

Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s recent gift of $250,000 helps fund the construction and maintenance costs for the $93 million facility, which replaced four previous buildings and is the newest law school building in Texas and one of the newest in the nation. The building, designed to meet the personal and educational needs of both faculty and students, provides the flexibility to serve alumni, the community, the judiciary, members of the bar, and other professionals.

“Directing funds to support the UH Law Center and the University overall creates so much good,” said Larry Campagna, Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s managing shareholder. “As a businessperson in Houston, I see the university and the Law Center as a tremendous resource, constantly putting forth excellent ideas for our community. At Chamberlain Hrdlicka, we are proud of our long-time association with the university. Many of our employees, not just lawyers, are UH grads, contributing greatly to the firm’s ability to provide excellent legal service to our clients. Several of our most senior counselors teach at the Law Center.”

Delivering on its mission of service, several of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s attorneys, including one of the firm’s co-founders – George Hrdlicka, have served as adjunct professors, sharing their experience and knowledge and giving back to increase the caliber of student excellence. Current adjunct professors include Larry Campagna, Christine Borrett, Peter Lowy, and Juan Vasquez, Jr.

“As an alumnus of the UH Law Center, it’s a great opportunity to give back and help mold the next generation of attorneys,” said Juan Vasquez, Jr. co-chair of Chamberlain Hrdlicka’s Tax Controversy Practice. “Having served as an adjunct professor for the past 15 years, it’s exciting to see the caliber of students. These student leaders will become our business and community leaders in the future, so it’s critically important to give back and support their growth and professionalism. And the University of Houston is leading the way.”
